Orginially from Ohio, I went to the big city of New York for about 5 years (mainly for school), and now I am working towards my masters at Cambridge in England. I hope this website gives everyone a taste of what my life is like here... and if nothing else I think you will find it fun and entertaining!!

Jesus Formal Hall

hehe after many days of anticipation.... here are the long dreamed of pictures from the Jesus formal hall back on October 27 from Monique... thanks Monique for your wonderful pictures and for filling in for me during my crazy day when I forgot to put the memory card back into my camera!!! (it was an absolute tragedy!!!)

First we went to their MCR bar for free drinks...

I had a gin and tonic for the first time, and it was actually quite tasty... reminded me a tiny bit of a whisky sour... although maybe its just due to the sour-ish taste.

Paul opted for the sherry I believe... hehe it is so hard remembering details from so long ago...

I had wonderful dinner company with Taty and Monique sitting across from me.

and great company on my side of the table too!!!

The room was quite nicely lit with candles and wall sconces...

However, the room reminded me of a barn for some reason hehe. It is supposed to be the oldest formal hall in Cambridge I believe. Here is the other table...

I think the hand painting (especially the color of the hands) plus the wood ceiling leads to the barn feel of the hall hehehehe.

hehe now why does the oldest formal hall have a super modern piece of art on the wall? It somehow really didn't fit in I felt.

Serena actually was able to leave the lab to come and have dinner!!! WOOOOW!!!

At this formal hall was the first time I tasted port.  It is waaaay too sweet... even for me!!

awwww what a cute pose.

hehe notice the silver salt and pepper shaker towards the bottom of the picture... this was taken right before they "mysteriously" disappeared..... hmmm I wonder where they went??  hehe Serena... where did the after dinner cheese plate go??
